Season of Giving Continues with Coat Drive at DC Armory
Washington, D.C. (January 8, 2016) – Events DC has given back to more than 9,000 families in the District this holiday season through Safeway Feast of Sharing, Councilmember LaRuby May’s Turkey Distribution, Cozy Christmas at Gateway DC, Mayor Bowser’s Senior Holiday Celebration, and Toys for Tots distribution at RFK Stadium. The season of giving continues as Events DC opens the DC Armory on Saturday, January 9 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm for a free coat, clothing and potato distribution led by Helping Hands Inc.
“The holiday season is a time of giving back to those in need and Events DC will continue to lend our resources in support of these worthy endeavors,” says Erik A. Moses, senior vice president and managing director of Events DC, Sports, Entertainment and Special Events. “Being able to partner with the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots, Safeway, Councilmember May and Mayor Bowser on holiday celebrations that lift the spirits of local residents is something that Events DC is committed to continuing to execute annually.”
The Helping Hands Inc. free coat, clothing and potato distribution on Saturday will be open to the public. Pre-registration is not necessary and all items will be given out on a first come, first serve basis.
