FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 9, 2017
Events DC, the official convention and sports authority for the District of Columbia will host a community meeting to introduce exterior streetscape plans at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The conceptual streetscape designs will feature lighting, art, retail kiosks, digital signage, planters and furnishings to reactive the exterior of the Convention Center and Shaw neighborhood. This meeting will be a preliminary discussion to share the initial plans and obtain feedback from the community and stakeholders.
The streetscape plans will act as a complement to the Convention Center, alongside Events DC’s recent expansion of mixed retail tenants and will reinforce the thriving development and revitalized Shaw neighborhood as a convention and entertainment district located in the heart of DC for residents and visitors alike to benefit.
